Container loading guide

How many Taj Mahal slabs fit in a 20ft container?

Plan a mixed natural quartzite and engineered quartz order by thickness, slab format, bundle approval and the actual loading plan.

There is no single correct slab count for a 20ft container. The load depends on whether you choose natural Taj Mahal quartzite slabs or engineered Taj Mahal quartz, whether the order is 2cm or 3cm, and how the bundles are mixed. A reliable quote starts with the exact slab format, finish, destination port and bundle list rather than a generic piece count.

Our factory minimum is one 20ft container. We can plan mixed colours, materials and thicknesses subject to the loading arrangement. This is useful when one project needs natural feature slabs for an island and engineered slabs for repeat countertops.

Why a fixed slab number is misleading

Natural Brazilian quartzite is approximately 3300 x 2000 mm, but the usable area and bundle weight vary with the actual block and finished slab. Engineered quartz is produced in jumbo 3200 x 1600 mm or super jumbo 3500 x 2000 mm formats. A 2cm load and a 3cm load also use the container differently. The factory must therefore confirm the selected bundle combination before sealing the container.

2cm versus 3cm: the loading trade-off

Thickness changes both handling weight and the number of square metres that can be planned within the container's practical weight limit. A 2cm slab may suit wall cladding, vanities or countertop systems designed for a thinner material. A 3cm slab can provide a full-thickness edge for an island or countertop. Neither should be selected by count alone: the fabricator's edge detail, cabinet support, cut-outs and overhang must be confirmed first.

For a mixed order, list each material and thickness separately. The loading team can then place the bundles in a stable sequence and check the total weight before the container is sealed. Use our 2cm vs 3cm slab thickness guide when preparing the cut list.

A practical mixed-container brief

A useful enquiry might combine natural Taj Mahal quartzite for a feature kitchen island with engineered Taj Mahal quartz for repeat units, vanities or commercial work. The final mix is not a preset recipe. It should be based on the project's cut list, the required formats and the bundle photographs approved by the buyer.

  1. Choose the material route: natural, engineered or a mixed container.
  2. Specify 2cm or 3cm, finish, quantity and the destination port.
  3. Ask for current bundle photos and video, including the visible slab codes.
  4. Have the factory confirm the loading plan, bundle stability and documentation before sealing.

How the factory confirms your load

We review the requested slabs, formats, thicknesses and finishes against current stock or production timing. Natural bundles are checked against the actual photos because background movement and veining vary. Engineered slabs are planned by their jumbo or super jumbo format. The resulting quotation should identify the materials, thicknesses, trade term and destination assumptions; it should not rely on an unverified fixed slab count.

Production is supported by bases in Shuitou, China and Rayong, Thailand, with four production lines. For the wider supply process, see our factory profile and quartzite import guide. Buyers can also review the slab catalogue before sending a request.

FAQ

Can I mix natural quartzite and engineered quartz in one container?

Yes, mixed orders can be planned within the one-20ft-container minimum, subject to the material, thickness, bundle and loading requirements. Ask for a confirmed loading plan rather than assuming every combination will fit.

Will the same number of slabs fit at 2cm and 3cm?

No. Thickness changes weight and available loading capacity. The final quantity must be calculated from the selected formats and bundles.

Can you quote a fixed container price from a slab count alone?

No reliable factory quotation can be based on count alone. Send the slab type, thickness, finish, bundle preference, destination port and trade term so the quote can be matched to real stock and freight assumptions.
